Run Coordinator's Report for September 14 Swing to September 15 Day

    Summary

Production running throughout the night, despite some troubles with right Q1. Beam was taken by accelerator all through the day shift (and the swing), so the Hall went to controlled access for those shifts. Several groups went in and worked on various subsystems. However, iochal6 could not be repaired, so we cannot use the right arm tonight, and we will have to fix it in the morning.

    Plans

    1. The detailed run plan for the night is in halog 289776.
    2. We will run only on the left arm tonight, and will most likely have an access tomorrow to fix iocha16.
    3. Establish good beam (do harps, spot++, check raster), then go to production running on the left arm.
    4. Take lots of production data! Watch the lumi widths to see if anything changes. Please check the histograms on the online data monitor with the reference ones on the shift how-to page (http://hallaweb.jlab.org/experiment/HAPPEX/opmanual/opmanual.html#HPXStartingonlineanalysis).
    5. Run spot++ every couple of hours and log it. Change the prescale factor PS8 to 1 and PS1 and 2 to 99999.
    6. Take Compton data, starting a new run every two hours. Call the Compton experts if the background rates get so high that they trip off the Compton detector HV.
    7. We are planning to have a Moller measurement at 2:00pm, if we are not in access to fix iocha16.
    8. Beam Time Accounting: accept the beam unless the Compton people say that they just cannot use it. Then record it as BNA.
