I replaced the CH scaler and it's "working" again.  (Didn't
I say that before ?).  

There was a tangle of ECL cables in front.  I tried to be very
careful, but ... please check to see that your favorite signal
is plugged into the right place !

I am having the shift crew take a bunch of short runs and watch
the CH synch mon.  The pattern of failure so far was that the
synch mon (and all other channels in this unit) would get stuck
at one value.  It gets stuck for an entire run, I think.  When
it is not stuck, it is good for an entire run.  Hence a bunch
of short runs and watch panguin.  

If this doesn't work I'm not sure what to do.
