keyword=Run Coordinator summary: October 15, Swing shift to 16, Day shift
RC report (Oct. 15 Swing shift ~ Oct. 16 Day shift)
Thursday, Oct. 15, (Swing)
- 16:00 Injector work in progress after network failure brought
injector IOCs down.
- 20:25 Injector work completed and Compton rates are really good
with slit fully open (< 100 Hz/uA).
- 21:10 Resumed production running.
- Target cooling is insufficient to run 100 uA.
- Settled for 92 uA with slightly larger raster size. Detector
widths are about 5300 ppm.
- During shift the panguin analysis software crashed repeatedly,
which was traced to lack of disk space.
Friday, Oct. 16, (Owl and Day)
- 00:00 Production running at 100 uA.
- 03:36-10:46 Arc 1 box supply tripped off. Power supply needs to
be replaced.
- 08:00-10:05 Mott measurment while beam off: (86.4 +/- 0.92stat
+/- 1.04sys) %, IHWP = IN.
Polarization: (85.62 +/- 0.87stat +/- 1.03sys) %, IHWP = OUT.
- 10:45-11:31 Hall A ray trace data for Compton optimization
purposes: Courant-Snyder and pathlength.
- 11:43 Resumed production running first at 92 uA and then up to 98
uA since target is running smoother.
- 13:45-14:30 Beam off due to injector problem.
- 14:30 Restart production running.
- During day shift, Counting House crate (ROC23) scaler
involved in synch check and Hall C BCM not updating.
At next beam stop, will try reseting the crate to see if that fixes it
at the next beam stoppage.
Coulombs So Far
- We are currently on Slug # 24 (IHWP IN)
- Coulombs taken in this time period (since Tuesday 13:00): 9.0 C
- Coulombs taken in all so far: 141.0 C as of Thursday 22:00
Concerns
- Please always check online hists and compare them to the
reference ones.
- If you find something strange or wrong, please HALOG it so
that the expert can check it.
- Target Operator, please always check target PID system and
strip plots to make sure all the systems work.
- The cryo flow rate around 25.2g/s and JT value is around
55.5 since this is better for Lumi widths.
- The flow rate and JT value setting are sensitive to the outside
temperature. Hence the
settings may change from morning to evening.
- Please be patient when you adjust the JT value since it
may take a few minutes to make the cryo flow rate stable.
