    keyword=RQ3 power supply reset

    The black handled lever on the front of the Q2 and Q3 power supplies operates the switch that connects the power supply to the magnet. The switch has a spring activated trip on it. When the switch trips, the handle remains in the up position. Resetting the switch requires the handle to be moved down, at which point the spring should catch on the lowered handle. Raising the handle will stretch the spring into position, thus the "significant force". RQ3 needs to have some work done on this mechanism. The handle frequently fails to catch the spring. Tamping the handle down a few times is usually all it takes for the handle to catch the spring mechanism. You will hear a slight click when it does and feel resistance to raising the handle. While I have found only a moderate tamping is required, some people get a bit carried away and bring the handle down hard and fast. Either way seems to work.
