For HAPPEX DAQ, I changed the start_stuff script so that
instead of

et_start -n 500 -s 18000

we have

et_start -n 3000 -s 18000
 
This will take hold the next time we restart the DAQ.
People are using the DAQ now so I couldn't test it.
