keyword=HRS-R settings were wrong last night
John LeRose calls. He noticed that the present magnet settings for the HRS are not correct; these are the same as were run overnight,
based on the HALL A Tools screenshots.
Of course, it is irrelevant for the left arm, since the left dipole was down, but the right arm was (presumably) taking data.
I'll put a screen shot of the present Hall A Tools below; compare this with the settings from 10:00 AM yesterday (halog entry 322120)
where, for example, Q3 was 573 A. not the 423 A it is at now.
The change in settings must have happened between 10:00 AM yesterday at 15:55 yesterday, based on the Hall A tools screenshots. I don't see any log entry to explain why.
I find the reason is that the "Optics Mode" under the Momentum control, for both arms is set to "No Septum". It should be, I believe, PREX_B. An expert should confirm this. I did a halog search
with the search term PREX_B and I only find my own log entries...
Moral
I will not adjust the settings now, since the Techs are working on
the magnets. We need to go to PREX_B setting, however, before we take any data... John Wexler confirms that we have been running "Tune B",
i.e. "PREX_B".
Kudos to John for checking.
P.S. John tells me that he did get paged last evening, presumably regarding the Right arm NMR issue, but it was send as an alphanumeric page, and he has not been issued an alphanumeric pager, so he got beeped, but with no number to call or message, so it got ignored. One should not use the Web-based pager system, it seems, unles s
