    keyword=HAND efficiencies

    a rough estimate of the neutron detection efficiencies of HAND during the Pm = 400 MeV/c kin.
    top-bottom are 5mA,15mA and 20 microAmp data.
    the plots on the left show the missing mass (in&out CT) and the num of events (e,e'p) events which correspont to a neutron in HAND
    the plots on the right show the TOF in HAND, with the number of events in the peak.

    efficiencies -
    ------------------
    5 microAmp
    s=54 b=59 sqrt(s+b)=10 (e',p)=279.
    eff=54/279 = 19% +/- 4%
    ------------------
    15 microAmp
    s=105 b=200 sqrt(s+b)=17 (e',p)=561
    eff=105/561 = 18% +/- 3%
    ------------------
    20 microAmp
    s=155 b=322 sqrt(s+b)=21 (e,e'p)=549
    eff=155/549 = 28% +/- 4%
    ------------------
    combined 22 % +/- 3%

    the error here is calculated as - efficiency*(sqrt(tof_sig+tof_bg)/tof_sig)

    this error calc neglects the (e,e'p) bg contribution to the error, which will also contribute.
