keyword=puzzle on hall A beam size

Harp traces taken last night were analyzed. Results are in the BTlog and elog. Beam size predictions based on the results at harps 1C05, 1C12 and 1C17 agree at the 20% level. Harp 1H00 is missing two wires. Harps 1H04 A and B have very poor S:N. 1H04A spot size in the horizontal is again in agreement with the prediction at the 20% level. Unfortunately, the vertical prediction is 1/7 the measured value. I can't find a possible cause which keeps horizontal size fixed within 20% yet blows up vertical a factor of seven.

Arne suggests raising the gain on the harp amplifier to see if 1H04 A/B may then provide adequate S:N and perhaps rather different fits.

I hope the experiment will allow Ops ten minutes for this Friday. 10 uA CW, raster power supply turned off. If amplifier gain doesn't help, EES I&C could be asked to work on the harps during the target change if radiation dose isn't an issue. I've filed OPS-PRs on 1H00 and the 1H04 pair. 1H00 requires breaking vacuum and so probably won't be worked on until the summer.
