We initially observed a pervasive coherent signal (~5 kHz) at the highest gain settings for the "A" BPM (and possibly "B," as well). The source was determined to be external, rather than an internal spur or oscillation. The source was traced to the now abandonded 10 kHz BCM system, which employs 1496.990 local oscillator (hanging off the rear of the chassis). Removing power to the BCM receivers eliminated the coherent interference, resulting in nice Gaussian noise output, as demonstrated by the Figures.
