    keyword=G2p/GEp Status update -- Wednesday

    There were a few hiccups getting beam back yesterday night, but we were back on the air around midnight. We ran the Optics program through OWL and a little into day shift -- I'm told we were able to get the data we needed despite the slow start.

    Hall B has deferred their request for 5-pass, so the beam tune-up that was planned to start at 9am and run through day shift was cancelled. This let us run a little longer to wrap up 1 or 2 additional Optics data points before moving the Hall to Restricted Access at 10am.

    The chicane move to Setting #5 is well underway. That should be completed by roughly 12:30pm. The target group is very busy prepping new target sticks and getting the magnet configured for the upcoming g2p production runs. The (rough) estimate is that they will be ready around 2pm at the earliest.

    OPS has people in fixing the controller card issue on the chicane magnet that slowed us down last night. It sounds like that will be in good shape by the time we need it.

    We will be locking the Hall as soon as the Target group is ready -- as mentioned earlier, our initial guess is around 2pm. Items in the queue once beam returns include (roughly in order of priority):

    1. BPM/Harp runs
    2. BCM calorimeter run
    3. TE measurement (if we can do this in parallel with 1, 2)
    4. Carbon, empty target dilution runs
    5. G2p production
    Note that we may drop or reorder as needed to make sure that we have time to polarize and start production running before midnight.
