    keyword=General Note on Deadtime

    The maximum DAQ rate is around 7.5 kHz (certainly no more). No matter how high your
    trigger rate or prescale is, the DAQ data taking rate will never be more than 7.5 kHz. Prescaling
    will help to reduce the deadtime and take data as close as possible to ~7.5 kHz.

    Also, maximum DAQ rate means the rate at which deadtime would be 100% if you could
    increase the rate as high as possible. We will never reasonably be able to run at 7.5 kHz.

    For example assume the trigger rate is ~28 kHz. Current End-of-Runs show with a prescale of
    3 and a prescaled trigger rate of roughly 9 kHz the deadtime is ~30 %. The rate CODA is
    actually accepting triggers is then ~6.3 kHz.

    With the same trigger rate a prescale of 4 equates to 7 kHz with deadtime ~15%. The rate
    CODA is actually accepting triggers is then ~6 kHz.

    To this effect, a prescaled rate higher than 7 kHz really only gains us deadtime. The same goes
    for 6 kHz unprescaled from what I have seen.
