Received a called about the septum magnet being tripped. Upon investigation (electricians and hall technicians) a blown fuse was discovered in the main disconnect for the HKS power supply. After replacing the fuse we preformed a few tests and it was undetermined what was the cause of the blown fuse. During testing the power supply functioned normal and indicated no signs of any issue(s) that would lead to a blown fuse. Because of this we determined that the blown fuse may have been a result of normal wear and tear over time. At this point, Jack has approved for the septum magnet to be ran at the previously authorized limits. Please note that if another fuse blows in the power supply we would need to conduct a more extensive investigation of the issue and this process would take several hours to complete. If at all possible, it is advised that data be taken at the lower current settings first before moving on to the higher ones.
