This entry is a followup to: 385829

    keyword=Tests of 4th and 5th HV crates

Tests of the 4th and 5th of the refurbished HV crates.

Reminder: use halog 385829 as a testing procedure (follow up link)

    E.g. for the 5th crate

Step 1 passed, see fig 1

Step 2 passed, but I had two problems:

    a) port 2001 couldn't be used. Was not released by some other
process. I tried killing suspected processes, no joy. Rebooted
    hacweb5, this worked.

    b) Looks like you have to "cd" to the directory first and then
    ./LecroyHV_Shim

    3. Step 3 worked, see GUI and see HV is on -- checked with voltmeter

    ------------

    Reminder of some pitfalls

    1. Some slots could be bad (I've seen it before). I think that if
the card's light flashes when you turn on the power, it's a good sign,
but if it doesn't flash it's a bad sign. (Not sure how well
correlated this is to functioning of slot, but I think 100%)

    2. Remember to enter "-100" (with minus sign) if a N card.

    3. I didn't check every channel of every slot. So, YMMV.

    --------------
