keyword=no CW before Monday (repost from MCC logbook)

Yves Roblin posted the following entry in the MCC elog an hour ago ago (entry 3276047, 03/21/2014 - 23:09). I guess this is indeed related to Kalyan'entry from this morning.

    Yves's entry:

When we got the beam on the halla dump for the first time, it was an horizontal stripe. This was traced to erroneous settings for the moeller quadrupoles that are part of the optics. As it turns out, there is a PLC failure and they are not producing the setpoint demanded by the control system. The last three moeller quads were all set at the same +100 amps. The first one worked but once you set it, you can not cycle it. Hall A staff is aware of that and is going to fix it. The plan is to do a thorough check Monday after they are fixed and make sure the control system PV's are acting on the correct quads at the right setpoint.

No CW in Hall A even for BLM calibration until this is fixed or an alternate optics with those quads powered off or set to specific values in local mode is in place. Its ok to go low current tune mode as it is clear that the beam goes to the dump. We have Ion chamber readouts to show that.
