    keyword=Owl shift summary

    For the owl shift, CW beam was on for some time and Bob did the Raster checkout with no target present. The beam was moving but the positions were reversed.

    After this was completed, we moved to the BeO target and requested a 5uA beam from MCC. We then took a 10 min run with the T1 trigger on both L and R HRS. We noticed that the dead-time monitor for the LHRS is not working (it gives negative values).

    At about 6am, the rate of the fan on loop 1 suddenly dropped to 25 Hz and continuously fluctuated between 25 and 26 Hz. We contacted Greg Smith and he gave us permission to lower the 'low' of the fan rate from 25 Hz to 20 Hz. This stopped the alarm but Greg noted that the matter is serious.

    In addition, MCC needed to do a survey so the beam had to be off for the remainder of the shift.
