PREX Heating and Cooling Controls
Purpose: To maintain a more constant temperature on the O-ring connection after the Pb/D target. The idea is to minimize the swing in temperature between beam on and beam off. This will reduce thermal cycling which threatens to break the seal.

- Since heating timescales are about 2 hours, note:
- Do not need to react to beam trips.
- Do not need to panic or be in a hurry.
- Go to hacweb8 (Web-based "APC" Power Control).
- Login info is on the white sheet of paper for "Passwords" near white board.
- Hint: apc
- Click "Device Manager" at top
- Click "Control" on side.
- The rest is pretty obvious. E.g. click "on", then Control Action "Off Immediate", then Next, then Apply.
- The "Cooler" (aka "blower") is on 1st channel.
- The "Heater" is on 9th channel (different circuit breaker).
- Important: Be sure to Log Off !!
- If you don't log off the next person may have difficulty logging in, although there's a timeout for the login and we do have a 2nd account if necessary.
