Hall A uses RG-58C/U to carry the electrical pulses from the photomultiplier tubes to the trigger electronics. The cables are 37 feet long for most phototubes. All cables carrying phototube signals have a nominal 50 ohm impedance to avoid transmission line mismatches. Some cables have an additional length of RG-174 added. This is done to define a reference time for the detectors.
