Preliminary setup work on floor of hall for 94-104(Pion)
- breakdown Pb-glass stand from 99-007(GEP)
- Completely disconnect cables from stand
- unbolt and remove lifting brace
- unbolt and set glass wall on floor
- remove CAMAC crate from shield hut
- remove cables to shield hut
- reconnect delay cables at rear of detector stack
- remove patch panels from rear of detector stack
- install Pb-glass in Total Absorber frame
- ready Pb-glass for installation in Pion Rejector frame
To setup Hadron detector stack (left arm) for 94-104(Pion)
- install stop at end of flat wheel track - use 1/2" grade 8 bolts
- install section of angle track at the door - use 1/2" bolts (3/4" socket)
- install exit window cover
- raise VDCs
- rotate bottom S1 counter so scintillator paddle is horizontal (gives room to raise VDC below it)
- install aluminum covers on the top of the VDCs
- disconnect ground strap to box beam
- remove bolts at stops at rear of VDC assembly
- pull VDCs forward till the lifting bolts can be inserted through the holes
in the lifting beams into the plates welded onto the Detector Support Frame
- turn nuts of lifting beams at front and rear of VDC to raise bearings above Thompson rails
- disconnect handshake cables at front/side of stack (just a few cables)
- remove large staircase from platform
- remove small staircase from platform
- remove storage cabinets from platform
- grease rails
- release chainfall at rear wheel of detector stack
- pull stack out
- work on stack
- remove A1
- remove S2
- remove SC1
- remove SC2
- remove upstream polyethylene
- remove polyethylene between carbon doors
- remove supports from between carbon doors
- attach new braces and S0 to A1
- install Pion Rejector
- install Gas Cherenkov
- install A1/S0 assembly
- install A2
- install S2
- pull stack back in
- connect and snug-up chainfall at rear wheel of detector stack
- place large staircase on platform
- place small staircase on platform
- place storage cabinets on platform
- lower VDCs
- turn nuts of lifting beams at front and rear of VDC to lower assembly onto the Thompson rails
- install bolts at stops at rear of VDC assembly
- connect ground strap to box beam
- rotate bottom S1 counter into correct orientation
- connect handshake cables at front/side of stack (just a few cables)
- remove aluminum covers from the top of the VDCs
- rotate bottom S1 counter into correct orientation
- remove exit window cover
- remove section of angle track at the door - save the 1/2" bolts
- remove stop at end of flat wheel track - save the 1/2" grade 8 bolts
To setup Electron detector stack (right arm) for 94-104(Pion)
- install stop at end of flat wheel track - use 1/2" grade 8 bolts
- install section of angle track at the door - use 1/2" bolts (3/4" socket)
- install exit window cover
- raise VDCs
- rotate bottom S1 counter so scintillator paddle is horizontal (gives room to raise VDC below it)
- install aluminum covers on the top of the VDCs

- install Total Absorber frame with Pb-glass installed in it
- install lower LeCroy 1458 high voltage power supply crate
- pull stack back in
- connect and snug-up chainfall at rear wheel of detector stack
- place large staircase on platform
- place small staircase on platform
- place storage cabinet on platform
- lower VDCs
- turn nuts of lifting beams at front and rear of VDC to lower assembly onto the Thompson rails
- pull VDCs back in against their stops
- install bolts at stops at rear of VDC assembly
- connect ground strap to box beam
- connect handshake cables at front/side of stack (just a few cables)
- remove aluminum covers from the top of the VDCs
- rotate bottom S1 counter into correct orientation
- remove exit window cover
- remove section of angle track at the door - save the 1/2" bolts
- remove stop at end of flat wheel track - save the 1/2" grade 8 bolts
