How Do I Rig This Miscellaneous Detector?
SRC Neutron Detector (wall of scintillator and aluminum
frame)
- Measured weight of detector assembly : 6,500 lbs (as
brought into
the hall and as run)
- There are 5 aluminum bars across the top of the
assembly.
2 red slings
choked around the 2nd, 3rd and 4th bars. Brought the sling ends up to
the
hook. Did not go around the two outer bars.
Went on the outside of the cross aluminum bars, to prevent the slings
from
sliding in together or some such catastrophe.
DVCS(first run)
- Measured weight of black detector box : 3,000 lbs
(crystals and cabling
installed.
Cables draped over the top of the black box. Mount for front
scintillator was
attached.)
GEN detector support frame
- Measured weight of detector assembly (04-19-05) : 7,700
lbs (First wire
chamber and
lead glass only installed. Blue steel plate downstream of third wire
chamber was
installed)
- 16 foot sling in inverted basket for the front. 1/2
inch
shackles on
the hoist rings.
8 foot slings to each of the rear hoist rings. Choked the sling ends to
the hoist
rings. It picked up tilting down in the front. Try shackles on the rear
hoist
rings, too.
Compton Polarimeter Electron Detector ( New, Upgraded Version )
- Measured weight of detector assembly (08-29-08) : 159.6
lbs (blanks on all flanges, no electronics cards installed)
- Detector was lifted into place by hand.
When In Doubt, Throw It Out
sin(a-b) = sin(a)cos(b) - cos(a)sin(b)
v**2 = 2*g*r*(1-sin(alpha))
r*cos(alpha)*m*g = F*h
