The CAMAC Interface

The VCC 2117 includes all the functions of a conventional CCA2 Crate Controller. It also contains enhanced CAMAC features which allow high speed CAMAC transfers (burst mode), and a reduced dead-time on the local 68030 CPU (no-wait mode).

The burst mode optimizes the arbitration latency on the CAMAC bus and increases the CAMAC bandwidth up to 2 Mwords/s.

The no-wait mode does not increase the CAMAC bandwidth but frees the processor to handle other tasks between consecutive CAMAC cycles.
