Tektronix Soft Front Panel Demonstration Programs
Using LabVIEW 6.0 (or later)

Tektronix provides LabVIEW programs as examples of useful utilities for the 
Tektronix open Windows oscilloscopes.  These Soft Front Panel examples are 
free samples and therefore are not fully tested nor supported as a commercial 
application.  The specific limitations include:

* Access to a limited number of features on the Tektronix oscilloscopes.  
They do not control all of the features and controls of the instrument.

* Troubleshooting LabVIEW by Tektronix Technical Support Center nor enhancing 
the programs by changing the virtual instrument (VI) design.  The Technical 
Support Center will gladly receive information on problems relating to these 
examples communicating with the instrument.

Installing and running the Tektronix LabVIEW Soft Front Panel programs,
1. System requirements 
If using LabVIEW on the desktop of the Tektronix open Windows oscilloscope
* Tektronix open Windows oscilloscope
* TDS5000 series
* TDS6000 series
* TDS/CSA7000 series
* LabVIEW version 6.0 or later installed
* Tektronix PnP drivers* for the target oscilloscope

If using LabVIEW on the desktop of a PC connected to the Tektronix oscilloscope
* A TCP/IP or GPIB connection between the PC and the oscilloscope 
* LabVIEW version 6.0 or later installed on the PC 
* Tektronix PnP drivers* for the target oscilloscope

*PnP drivers are shipped with the following versions of the Tektronix 
oscilloscope software., and are available from our website's Software Download 
section.
TDS5000 - Oscilloscope software version greater than 1.0.7 
TDS6000 - Oscilloscope software version 2.2.0 or greater 
TDS7000 - Oscilloscope software version 2.2.0 or greater
CSA7000 - Oscilloscope software version 2.2.0 or greater 
Check the version in the oscilloscope program menu item, Help->About TekScope.

2. Copy the Soft Front Panel programs onto the open Windows oscilloscope or 
PC running LabVIEW.
3. Install the PnP drivers onto the oscilloscope or PC running LabVIEW.
4. If using a PC, verify the connection from LabVIEW to the oscilloscope is 
working.
5. Execute the Soft Front Panel program.
