Reconfiguration and Commissioning

  • Starting on April 18 at 8am:
 - Energy change: 4 pass --> 3 pass (8 hours)
 - Beam energy measurement (2 hours)
 - Change DAQ to two independent DAQs (10 hours)
 - Initial checkout (8 hours)
 - BCM calibration (1 hour)
 - Boiling study on 4He and deuterium (2x4 hours)
 - Rate-dependence tests (4 hours)

1st phase: Helium-4 and Deuterium running

The time listed in red is the total time needed. It should be divided by two if the kinematics point is taken simultaneously by the the two HRSs.

Total time needed: 156.6 hours/2 = 78.3 hours per HRS (production) + 3.5 hours (optics) + (target motion) + (kinematics change)

The 4He and 2H might not be ready for beam simultaneously. Therefore, the plan is to take data on 4He, then move to carbon. During the data taking on carbon, lower the cryo-load on 4He and prepare 2H for beam (it should take 5 min). Take data on 2H. Then on dummy and optics. Then switch kinematics and do the same thing in reverse order: Optics --> dummy --> 2H --> Carbon --> 4He. We will have to the cryo-load exercise only for 5 kinematics: 1, 2, 3.1, 4.1, 5.1.
