General Characteristics
- GE180 cell - recently received from glassblower, filling in progress.
- Fabricated by Mike Souza during March 2012 at Princeton University. Requested dimensions same as for Protovec-1.
- During glassworking process, the pumping chamber cracked two times (first time right after installing transfer tubes with lips into pumping chamber while cooling down, second time during annealing process). Mike blamed this problem on the transfer tube lips, so Al authorized Mike to skip trying to make the lips and just complete the cell. Of course, this will limit the amount of alkali metal that can be stored on the bottom of the pumping chamber since it is easier for the metal to roll down the transfer tubes without lips or walls.
