Introduction

The TreeSearch library provides a highly configurable tracking detector module for the Hall A C++ Analyzer Podd. The module performs high-speed track reconstruction for drift chamber systems such as the one used in the Hall A BigBite spectrometer. The software should be fairly easily adaptable to wire chamber-based tracking systems of other spectrometers as well, provided that
  1. there are at least 9 wire planes: three ore more planes in each of three or more coordinate projections (e.g. u, v, x);
  2. the wire planes are parallel to each other; and
  3. tracks in the tracking region are straight (field free region).
The TreeSearch algorithm has been successfully used for track reconstruction at HERMES and has been proposed for other experiments, such as Q-weak at Jefferson Lab.
