Steve: Question of code processing speed: Can an interpreted python script speed be improved by a factor ~100? Experience in SBS tracking: from an already compiled C++ code using an inefficient algorithm, to another compiled C++ code with an improved algorithm, we improved the tracking speed by a couple orders of magnitude. Going from and interpreted python script to a compiled C++ code, I think it can be achieved.
