Statistical requirement

  • Asymmetry

In the case of small asymmetries, the statistical uncertainty on the measurement of an asymmetry reduces to

<math> \delta A = 1 / \sqrt{N} </math>

telling that 2500 Events are required to deliver a 2% absolute uncertainty on the measurement of an asymmetry. In order to obtain a reasonable understanding of the <math> \varphi </math> distribution, 10 bins in the out-of-plane angles are required asking then about 25000 Events at a given fixed kinematics setting defined by <math> ( Q^2, \xi, \eta, t) </math>.
